Carry-Over of Vacation Leave

For all employees (At SSC)

As fiscal year 2013-2014 draws to a close, we wish to inform you that all annual vacation leave credits exceeding two hundred and sixty-two decimal point five (262.5) hours or thirty-five (35) days which have not been used before March 31, 2014, will automatically be paid in accordance with the applicable collective agreement in force.

 

For CS employees only (At SSC) – (Change from last year)

According to article 15.07 of the CS collective agreement, upon request, an employee may carry-over into the following vacation year up to a maximum of two hundred sixty-two point five (262.5) hours credits.

For fiscal year 2012-2013, as a transition measure, SSC allowed the carry-over of annual leave credits automatically up to a maximum of 262.5 hours, without any request from the employees. Please note that this transition measure does not apply anymore.

Starting in fiscal year 2013-2014 and in future years, employees from the CS occupational group will have to inform Human Resources of their decision, whether it is to liquidate their vacation leave balance or carry them over to the next fiscal year (within the allowable limits provided by the CS collective agreement). Please communicate your intent (mandatory) no later than March 31st, 2014.
